Make Change A Positive Part Of Your Life

TERMS & SOLUTIONS AGAINST ID THEFT

I have found the importance of becoming a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist:
"C.I.T.R.M.S. " because I wanted the public to understand how serious the identity theft crisis has become.
To have your identity restore if you become a victim of identity theft by “do it yourself” method.
You may find this quite difficult, very time consuming and of course costly.

Our current technical ways of life has come to a point in each of us, that crimmals are being more
clever in finding new ways to access other peoples personal information. Unfortunately, no one is safe.
It’s no secret: Identity theft is a major problem all over.

FTC statistics studies showed that criminals getting caught for identity theft crime are 1 out of 700.
That’s a large gap. FTC & FBI have just recently announced 1 of 3 will be a victim of some form of
identity theft by the end of this year.

Identity theft is a crime in which your personal information such as your name, social security number,
date of biirth, and address is stolen or compromise and may be used by someone to assume your
identity, often for the purpose of financial gain at your discression. Identity fraud is when the stolen identity is used to impersonate the victim. Methods a crimmal may use to steal your data over the
internet that includes hacking, spam or phishing. Social media sites and the file sharing can be a
prime targets for identity theft thieves, since users often make the assumption of a trusted environment,
sharing personal information without understanding the consquences.

Identity theft is not just a risk for those who use the internet. Crimmals can obtain information by sorting
through trash, evesdropping, stealing wallets, picking up receipts at restaurants, and other means.

Once enough information is gathered, crimmals may open new credit card accounts, apply for loans,
empty your bank accounts, make charges on your credit card, or develop fake forms of identification.

Identity thieves will not always use the  information themselves. They may sell it to underground markets
for financial gain and even funding prisoners and gangs.

Identifying Identity Theft E-Threats

Pharming or spoofing
.

What hackers do is try redirect you to a legitimate web site's traffic to an impostor site.
You'll be advice to provide confidential information such as updating your profile for banking information
purposes. DON'T DO IT. Banks or any kind of electronic billing business do not ask you for your personal
information through email.

Smishing.

This method phishing is done with text messaging sent to your cell phone. It instructs you to visit a bogus
Web site. Once you get on there site they can connect on to your phone and hear or even see you if you
have a video phone. They have a way to listen in and obtain any personal information they can use.
This is new in America and could be worse later on but it is happening a lot in the asian country's.

Spyware.
You've unknowingly downloaded illicit software when you've opened an attachment, clicked on a pop-up
or downloaded a song or a game. Criminals can use spyware to record your keystrokes and obtain credit
card numbers, bank-account information and passwords when you make purchases or conduct other
business online. They also can access confidential information on your hard drive.

Phishing.

You get an e-mail that appears to be from your bank or an online service, it's more likely to be
PayPal or eBay, instructing you to click on a link and provide information to verify your account.

Now in this section you will notice that you don't have to have a computer to have your identity stolen.
Here are some of the methods that are being use today.

Crooks will steal your wallet or women's purse to gain access to your credit card, driver license,
banking information, or social security. Obtainig any of these confindential information of yours can
be sold out to black market operations or crimmal organizations.
Note: in the state of Arizona, the flee
markets that held each week. People who conficated stolen social security numbers can legally sell this
information to anyone. The laws implies you can sell them but you can't use them. This is how one way
illegal aliens get SS# to obtain employment even crimmals with records.

Voice Phising:
You get a call on your phone which leaves you a voice message which then direct
you to call this number back either to your bank or credit institution and ask you to punch in your
acoount number, PIN or orther personal information.

Credit or Bank Card Skimming:
There are hard -press dishonest people or crimmals who are armed with a device call a portable
card readers. These crooks work in resturants or stores and there mission is to collect as much credit
card information as they can. There also bogus ATM card slots & cameras to record your PIN number.
If something seems out of place in any ATM machines that sticks out. Don't use it.

Crimmal Groups:
Organize crimmal orgainzations and gangs will use there members to go and  break into homes to
obtain any personal financial information they can get. They will use the information require to either
purchase items to resell or sell your information to black markets and use the money they get to
fund there crimmal operations.

Self help tips to protect yourself from identity theft fraud.

Now, I will share with you some pro-active solutions that can protect yourself from identity theft to
helpyou in avoiding some problems. However, if you do everything you could possibly can to protect
yourself from identity theft fraud and do all the right things, your identity could still be compromise
by 3rd party groups.

This is no fault of yours. It can be a digrunted employee or dishonest person hacking into computer
system, organized crimmal groups and third world countries which could gain access of your personal
confidential files. In this case if you can prove your information was compromise, then I advice you to
seek legal consultation to correct this situation immediately.

Always keep your banking & credit financial information private. Banks or financial institutions will
never call or email you to verified your account. They already have it.

Be pro-active in monitoring your banking or credit card transactions. Do a credit report from all three
major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion) at least once a year. You are entitled to one
free credit report from each bureau every year. You may wish to stagger your requests to check a
different credit bureau every four months. Check for any unauthorized usage. These crimmals will start
small to see if the're being notice.

Go paperless while banking. Why is this important? These crimmals or parasites I call them are
driving around and looking for red flags on mail boxes. By retrieving your sent mail they gain access
to your banking, credit, or check information.

A computer
that does not have the proper security measures in place is an open ticket for hackers.
Keep up to date with the latest anti-virus software installed in your computer and all of the
applications and operating systems patches too.

Absolutly do not open e-mail attachments from unknown users or suspicious e-mails from trusted sources. Do not follow links that's provided by unkown or un-trusted sources.

Be careful what personal information you are distributing, especially on social networking sites. Be
effective in monitoring what information others may be posting about you. Also verify your privacy
settings to ensure you are not inadvertently sharing your personal information.

Guard your personal information, know what's in you purse or wallet. Don't carry your social security
card with you, and don't provide your social security number to anyone unless they have a legimate
need for it.

Consider having a GPS tracking device installed in your vehicle. This way if your vehicle ever gets stolen you can reported immediately. You'll have a faster response with the police tracking down your car.
